The Dean congratulates Dr. Mitra Lovelin Gultom, Postdoctoral Fellow, Department for BioMedical Research, University of Bern and Dr. med. Dr. sc. nat. Joel Zindel, Senior Physician, Visceral Surgery and Medicine, Inselspital Bern for the Dr. Lutz and Dr. Celia Zwillenberg Award 2022. The award recognizes up to three outstanding scientific papers in the field of biological sciences each year. The prize is intended as an incentive for young talents who have presented an innovative work as a dissertation or a high-profile publication as a postdoctoral researcher. The Dean congratulates Dr. Roberta Esposito on a Young Investigator Grant for cancer research

Dr. Roberta Esposito from the Department of BioMedical Research (DBMR) and the Clinic for Medical Oncology has been granted 100’000 CHF to develop her research on cancer with the support from the Béatrice Ederer-Weber foundation. Her research will use patient derived organoids to study the role of lncRNAs in colorectal cancer.

Prof. Dr. med. Annalisa Berzigotti, Department of Visceral Surgery and Medicine, Inselspital Bern, has been awarded the Lucie Bolte Prize for her research on liver cirrhosis. She is the first woman to receive this price, which is the highest award in the field of liver research.
