DAS

The continuous education program Experimental and Translational Nephrology provides extensive insights into the basics of nephrology by studying the physiological and pathophysiological kidney function in health and disease. The program is intended for national and international graduates with a natural or medical science background who are interested in basic and clinical renal research.

Liver diseases are frequent and complex. If the patients do not receive the correct therapy, they are at risk of developing severe complications. In this CAS/DAS, one learns by working in an excellent liver unit embedded in a multidisciplinary clinic how to diagnose and treat patients affected by liver disease.

The certificate courses CAS, DAS and MAS in Sleep, Consciousness and Related Disorders are intended for professionals with a degree in health-related disciplines, natural science or engineering who wish to gain an in-depth knowledge of sleep medicine.

The continuing education program exercise therapy in sports and medicine is offered in cooperation with the Interdisciplinary center for sports and movement medicine of the Insel Hospital (Interdisziplinäres Zentrum für Sport- und Bewegungsmedizin des Inselspitals, IZSB) and provides extra-occupational, practice-oriented and theory-supported further education for movement and sports therapy of disease, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.

This program is hosted by the medical faculties of the universities of Basel, Zürich and Bern. The main goal is to provide key skills to future public health professionals and leads to the “DAS in Public Health of the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zürich”.

This continuing education program is offered by the Swiss Institute for Translational and Entrepreneurial Medicine (sitem-Insel AG). The sitem-Insel School aims to promote researchers and train executives in the fields of translational medicine and biomedical entrepreneurship. Participants should have an MSc or higher degree in life sciences, medicine, biomedical engineering or similar.

To obtain this DAS, participants need the knowledge from the CAS in Translational Medicine and CAS in Biomedical Entrepreneurship.

Building on the CAS in Translational Medicine, the participants deepen their knowledge from research to clinical application.

Participants in this DAS advanced training course acquire sound knowledge in the field of regulatory affairs of medical technology and diagnostics products. They become familiar with European and international guidelines and are able to implement these efficiently and correctly at all stages of product development.
