Béatrice Ederer–Weber Foundation Young Investigator Call for Scientific Projects in Cancer

Promotion of young researchers is a key goal from the Strategy 2030 of the Medical Faculty, University of Bern. The current call is aimed at promoting outstanding young researchers and shall provide them an opportunity to generate preliminary data that enhance their chances to succeed in further third party funding schemes such as those from SNF (Ambizione, SNSF Starting Grants). The Béatrice Ederer-Weber Foundation is committed to support research in the field of cancer. This call will fund a project in this research area, with a particular focus on the use of in vitro models such as organoids or organs-on-a-chip.

Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators 2022

The Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators 2022 supports young investigators in the field of biomedical research who are conducting research in Europe. ETH Zurich Branco Weiss Fellowship 2022

ETH Zurich supports particularly innovative research projects by young researchers with the Branco Weiss Fellowship 2022. The application deadline is 15 January 2022. More information on the application criteria and the application process can be found here

 

Grant for Protected Research Time

With the announcement of grants for "Protected Research Time", the Medical Faculty supports the possibility of creating clinical research time for young academics in the medical service sector.

REquip Application

The project outline for a REquip application is to be submitted to the Research Committee.

Application to Resources Committee

Applications for funding of research equipment are to be submitted by the institutes and clinics to the Resources Committee. An annual deadline for submission takes place in October each year. Further information and forms can be found here

SF-Board Project Calls for the promotion of strategic research priorities at university units of the Inselspital

An annual call for proposals is launched to support collaborative research projects that correspond to the strategic priorities of the Faculty of Medicine. Next call in 2022.

Project support by Alumni MedBern

The Alumni MedBern association supports projects within the Faculty of Medicine that serve teaching, research or public relations. In particular, innovative projects that benefit a broad circle of staff and students of the Faculty are to be supported. Fund for the financing of employment extensions for young researchers based on COVID-19

This fund is intended to support particularly talented students with high potential who have already achieved a certain scientific output and are enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year at a Graduate School of the University of Bern. The salary of doctoral students can be financed from this fund for a maximum of 6 months.
