Die Universitätsklinik für Kardiologie ist ein führendes Zentrum für die Diagnose und Behandlung von Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen. Neben den medizinischen Dienstleistungen engagiert sich die Klinik besonders in der Forschung sowie Aus- und Weiterbildung. Die Forschungs- und Studienprojekte decken viele Bereiche der Kardiologie sowohl in der translationalen als auch klinischen Forschung ab.

Profil

  • Lehrtätigkeit auf mehreren Ebenen: klinische Facharztausbildung, Studierende und Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden, Betreuung von MD, Master- und PhD-Studierenden.
  • Kontinuierliches medizinisches Fortbildungsprogramm (Fokus Herz Bern).
  • Ein breites Spektrum an klinischen Forschungsaktivitäten, das die Untersuchung von pharmakologischen Therapien und Implantaten zur Behandlung der koronaren Herzkrankheit, thromboembolischen Erkrankungen, Herzklappenerkrankungen, Herzrhythmusstörungen und Herzinsuffizienz umfasst. Forschung im Bereich der multimodalen Bildgebungsmethoden des Herzens, einschliesslich CT, MRT und Echokardiographie.
  • Translationale Forschung (kardiale Elektrophysiologie, arterielle Hypertonie).
