My research:
Clinical trials of all types and descriptions, especially Investigator Initiated trials (IIT). New models of trials; translational research using trial biospecimens; patient involvement in clinical research design and conduct; global oncology. Academic Oncology clinical practice in my former roles.
My particular skills/experiences:
Mentoring junior researchers; multidisciplinary engagement; creating networks and collaborations. Improving global cancer care in my role as Associate Editor, JCO Global Oncology
My measures to promote diversity:
Research into gender equality- not only for researchers but patients and diseases/ outcomes according to gender; advocating for structured measures to address equity and diversity; educating about unconscious bias
My recommendations for young female researchers on the academic career path?
Be unapologetically yourself; seek a good mentor and a great career/life coach; resist sacrificing your family/ outside life
