Internationalization at the Faculty of Medicine

The Strategy 2030 of the Faculty of Medicine sets internationalization as one of six long-term strategic goals, considering it as a factor for excellence and success. We aim to strengthen our Faculty’s positioning at the international level through the internationalization of research, teaching, education, and administration.

In recent attempts to define the concept of internationalization in the context of higher education, the emphasis was placed on the fact that it is not the goal, but rather an instrument to ensure the quality of education and research within and beyond the institution.

Over the years, we have consolidated our position as one of the world’s top 100 medical universities and are among the most attractive medical hotspots on the university map of Europe.

Strategic Goals

In its Internationalization Strategy, the Faculty of Medicine has identified four key objectives:

To develop and expand international partnerships and research collaborations at the faculty, clinical department, and institute levels.

To increase the Faculty’s attractiveness by facilitating incoming and outgoing mobility of researchers, students, and staff, while increasing career development opportunities.

To enhance the Faculty's global profile by promoting research achievements, engaging in strategic initiatives, and adopting an international-oriented outreach and communication strategy.

To foster sustainable international engagement with research and medical institutions or networks worldwide, including in low- and middle-income countries, thereby promoting a dynamic, equitable, and interconnected academic environment that can lead to global health improvements.
