Partnerships

Strategic partnerships constitute an important pillar of our Faculty’s internationalization strategy and help shape our international profile. Our commitment is to facilitate, launch, and maintain sustainable cooperations with institutions showing strong research records and common strategic interests.

Our strategic partnership with McGill University was officially launched in 2024 with a Memorandum of Understanding. The aim is to foster international scientific cooperation, advance precision health and medicine, and enhance knowledge exchange, thus strengthening academic and research ties between Switzerland and Canada. At the core of this collaboration lies an initiative to address the global burden of metabolic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.

There are joint strategic interests in particular in sleep, stroke and translational neuroscience, cardiovascular medicine, cancer research, preventive medicine, clinical research, and education.

Collaborations worldwide

Collaboration takes place at different levels: through individual networking amongst scientists, departmental networking, and overarching partnerships with leading international universities worldwide. Both informal contacts between international scientists and official partnerships contribute to enhancing excellence in research, education and teaching, and patient care.
